OF THINGS HOLY…in this season of things called holy, it comes to me – as it always has – now more clearly than ever, though, that the thing most holy is, in fact and in deed, that thing called love – love that is physical – and spiritual – spiritual in that it miraculously transcends the physical and becomes/remains the heart’s most holy treasure – love –

John Keats, by William Hilton (died 1839). See...

o’ holy grace

whispers of your shadow sweep ‘cross my lonely face

takin’ me to that other place

the place of blood red moons

where stars come out at noon

and mornin’s go to bed

with nothin’ left unsaid

shadows of your whispers sweep ‘cross my lovin’ face

takin’ me to that other place

the place of

holy grace

the surrender

i have fought far too long

etching memories into my heart

storing them safely

to take them down from

the shelf of what was

to hold them still to caress them

to sniff the fragrance of their time

a time when life was

when love was

when i was

when we were

fearing life unbearable

without the flavor of their reality

i have fought far too long

keeping them alive

keeping them at the surface

of the waters of my mind

where they could remain forever

cellularly connected to the me of me

so that my soul might still survive

the dankness and darkness of

the nothingness of now

the now without you

the now without us

and therefore

the now without me

for what can remain of me

when that part of me

that completed me is gone

is no longer with me

no longer beside me

no longer in me

leaving this

nothingness of now

this absence this void

i have fought far too long

yes it is true

so now

now i surrender

i surrender me

i surrender all that was

all that could have been

that should have been

that never can be again

i surrender all

else how might i go on

how might you continue

each not living while alive

each choosing death by life

so i surrender

to love to passion to life

i surrender to us

i shall choose to live

for us both

you there and me here

smiling for what was

weeping not

for what cannot be

i surrender

i surrender to the

magnificence of now

the magnificence

the now

love’s holy memories

holy tokens

drench yourself in words unspoken

holy tokens of my heart now broken

these things i cannot say

on this or any day

sacraments to hold you tight

prayers to wing you through the night

lay them down within your soul

and wed you then my love made whole

“…i am certain of nothing but of the holiness of the heart’s affections…”

John Keats

Lord's Pavilion

As the cricket season draws to a close, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) can report a surge in popularity for guests seeking a full day of luxury hospitality at Lord’s during a Test Match in 2016. In the Home of Cricket’s most iconic venues – the Captains’ Lounge and Marylebone Suite – hospitality packages which included a hearty breakfast, sumptuous four-course lunch and luxury afternoon tea, sold out quickly for the first three days of the England v Sri Lanka and England v Pakistan Investec Test Matches. Private Boxes with the best views of the action for up to 18 guests also sold out fast for the same days. MCC revealed a sharp increase in revenue for its 2016 Sri Lanka Test Match hospitality packages compared with 2014 when the team last played England at Lord’s. Revenues for hospitality were up by nearly 30% over the same period in 2014 whilst private box sale revenues were up by a healthy 60%. Nick Kenton, MCC Head of Sales, Meetings & Events and Hospitality, said: “2016 has been a fantastic year for enjoying a day of cricket whilst experiencing the very best food, drink and hospitality that Lord’s has to offer. “This year’s sales figures show that hospitality packages at Lord’s were in huge demand and continue to be a key part of the summer sporting calendar.” Lord’s also expects high demand for its new hospitality packages, to be released this autumn for 2017 matches. These include England v South Africa from 6th to 10th July and England v West Indies from 7th to 11th September. Packages for the England v Ireland Royal London One-Day International on 7th May 2017 are also expected to sell out in record time. Details of all hospitality options at Lord’s can be found on its website
