Game of Thrones and the dwarf Tyrion Lannister: fantastic

Game of Thrones, what a series! Tyrion Lannister, what a dwarf!

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones is one of the best fantasy series I have ever seen and Tyrion Lannister one of the best main characters.

Based on the first book of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’, a series of novels by George R. R. Martin, Game of Thrones TV series mixes a lot of different genres and elements which assure the success. Of course, the plot is placed in an imaginary kingdom and time, but it’s so well built that it seems a historical film, a movie of the Middle Ages with knights and fights by glory and honor, with handsome warriors and forgotten princesses, with cruel kings and nice children. Of course, Game of Thrones has dragons and magic, because it’s a fantasy series, but some of its magical elements are close to zombies, which brings us to another horror genre. Erotic scenes are frequent and even scandalous relations of incest. Love, sea battles, betrayals and revenge, a bit of everything and all very well done.

But among all these elements and characters, it excels Tyrion Lannister, a dwarf. Peter Dinklage is the awesome actor who plays the role. He cannot do better!

The small Tyrion is the strongest man of Seven Kingdoms in spite of his degenerated family. He fights against his terrible sister and nephew, against his evil father, and against the corruption trying to rule the kingdom with justice. In fact, he is the only one able to lead the army when things get ugly while other knights react as cowards.

Tyrion Lannister is intelligent because he has always known that being so little, he has to based his strength on his brain, and he is a seductive, he knows how to speak a woman, no doubt.

I’ve been missing Tyrion Lannister from months. Fortunately, the series was renewed for a third season by the U.S. cable channel HBO on April 10, 2012, few days after the second season premiere. Again, the third season will consist of ten episodes. It will be based on the first half of ‘A Storm of Swords’, the third of the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ novels. Production started in July 2012, and the season will be released on March 31, 2013.

I’m waiting for you, Tyrion Lannister, the last man of honor!

  • i’ve not seen any of this series – but after this review, will have to – however i have seen the actor who plays lannister – and am crazy about him – my favorite film of his is “the station agent” – fabulous movie – and of course he was great in it – opposite patricia clarkson – and if i remember correctly, he also played for a while in the tv series nip and tuck – great review of this intriguing series!

As the cricket season draws to a close, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) can report a surge in popularity for guests seeking a full day of luxury hospitality at Lord’s during a Test Match in 2016. In the Home of Cricket’s most iconic venues – the Captains’ Lounge and Marylebone Suite – hospitality packages which included a hearty breakfast, sumptuous four-course lunch and luxury afternoon tea, sold out quickly for the first three days of the England v Sri Lanka and England v Pakistan Investec Test Matches. Private Boxes with the best views of the action for up to 18 guests also sold out fast for the same days. MCC revealed a sharp increase in revenue for its 2016 Sri Lanka Test Match hospitality packages compared with 2014 when the team last played England at Lord’s. Revenues for hospitality were up by nearly 30% over the same period in 2014 whilst private box sale revenues were up by a healthy 60%. Nick Kenton, MCC Head of Sales, Meetings & Events and Hospitality, said: “2016 has been a fantastic year for enjoying a day of cricket whilst experiencing the very best food, drink and hospitality that Lord’s has to offer. “This year’s sales figures show that hospitality packages at Lord’s were in huge demand and continue to be a key part of the summer sporting calendar.” Lord’s also expects high demand for its new hospitality packages, to be released this autumn for 2017 matches. These include England v South Africa from 6th to 10th July and England v West Indies from 7th to 11th September. Packages for the England v Ireland Royal London One-Day International on 7th May 2017 are also expected to sell out in record time.
