In US, today is the Thanksgiving Day. We have to be thankful everyday but, today, it can be special. Here, my reasons!
First of all: I’m still alive –I suppose so-.
I survived last year to a thrombosis. I woke up and I felt bad. Leg ache… just that. I went out with Jack and I couldn’t walk like always. There was something strange I couldn’t explain. I spent a bad morning and when I called Isabel by phone I was really bad. I had two options: to buy a bottle of whiskey and wait or to call my sister –she is a doctor-. I chose the second option –sometimes there is a paradox in the logic- and when she looked at me she turned pale. To the hospital! I just wanted to watch the Barcelona – Real Madrid that night but she was repeating: Don’t worry, you will be fine! And I wasn’t worried at all –that’s what happened with idiots, we are never worried at all-. My sister told me I was very lucky. I had a lung embolism caused by a thrombosis in my leg. It could be worst: coagulated blood could go to my head and… I wouldn’t be here writing these clumsy words. Thanks to everybody who came to visit me at the hospital, thanks to the doctors and, thanks God, I am still here.
Sometimes, you wake up and you don’t know anything. You can plan everything but everything may be wrong or –maybe- better than you planned. That’s life! And if things were exactly as you plan, life would be so boring. I have planned some things for today and, of course, for now… well, the day is being something very different I had planned but… I woke up one day planning to watch the match and I ended the day in a hospital falling out with a doctor about my habits with alcohol. Anyway, I’m here.
Have a great Thanksgiving in US and, if you are not there… think this: the day can be worse than you can imagine. Smile to people. It’s free and, above all, it’s good for your health.
Have a great Thursday.
