Krystian Zimerman and Leonard Bernstein in one of the best versions of the Beethoven 5th concerto (Emperor)
This is the complete play of one of the best things that Beethoven composed for piano and orchestra. The Wiener Philharmoniker conducted by Leonard Bernstein gave us this present made of essences, classicism and, of course, the best of the best: Ludwig van Beethoven (have you noticed I love his music?).
This piece was played in 1976 when Zimerman was at the top of his mastery. In 1973 he had won top honors at the Ludwig van Beethoven International Piano Competition but it was just the beginning. Rubinstein invited him to Paris in 1976 and he started to play in Munich, London, Paris and Viena and, of course, he debuted in America in 1978 and he is one of the most acclaimed pianists of all time.
Enjoy this masterpiece and have a great day!
