Life is a fantastic surprise, specially if we are among art and artist. This morning, I opened my mail and I could see Echi Aaberg (Echi Åberg) artwork. She lives so far, in Kivik Sweden, she is so close to my feelings. Abstract art, secrets and colors, insinuations of a world just in front of us but of a world we never see, because we only notice some details, some tiny spots… We should complete the picture. Echi Aaberg has noticed these details and she has created her personal worlds, tiny spots, strong colors, why don’t you enter in her secrets? Why don’t you try to complete her world… maybe is an universal one.

Listen to Echi Aaberg, from Kivik Sweden:

Art is for me a way of make free from the things all around me – from people, from all things you must do or mustn´t do. When alone in my study it is just me and the blank canvas and of course my ideas just waiting to shape up on the empty space.

I always work with laywer upon laywer of colour, preferably in acrylic and almost wet in wet, which gives me the possibility to wipe away some of the colour. Than more layer of colour until I am satisfied. My motives I find from impressions just anywhere – they are transformed in my mind and just maybe they end up as a painting. Abstract or maybe figurative abstract is what I love and what also happen on the canvas. I also work with prints and with metal.

It is for the viewer to experience the painting based on their background, therefore most of the time I do not specify the title – as I think limit the possibility of looking at art. My paintings are depending on my mood, on event, on meetings etc and I change the colourspectra very often sometimes because I can and because I prefer to work like that. Have no intention to become to be stuck with motives or colour – and will not copy myself times after time in order to satisfy somebody.
