Il Trovatore. One of the best operas composed by Giuseppe Verdi
I would like to share something with you. And this something means much for me. As you know, I love opera and, when Isabel is not at home, I listen music that she doesn’t like very much –Jack either-. Today I would like to share my music with you with this fantastic version of Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi. It was played at the Covent Garde in 2002.
This is one of my favorites operas and very is, with Puccini, my favorite composer. I think this is a very happy opera and, as always in Verdi, we can enjoy great arias and fantastic chorus that I am sure you can easily recognize.
The opera was first performed at the Teatro Apollo, Rome, on 19 January 1853 where it “began a victorious march throughout the operatic world”. Today it is given very frequently and is a staple of the standard operatic repertoire. It appears at number 23 on the Operabase list of the most-performed operas worldwide (From Wikipedia)
I hope you like it and please, don’t tell this to Isabel!
With you… Il Trovatore!
