Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan – David Blandy – Fiona Curran – David Marchant – Jock Mooney

Launch Event: 28 September, National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, 6.30 – 8.30pm

Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan will present two temporary shelters on Museum Green, decorated with a rainbow pattern and a cartoon cut-out face; David Blandy has created The Devil meets Dylan Thomas, a videogame where you play as Swansea’s literary hero; Fiona Curran uses two trees in the grounds of St Mary’s Church for the foundations of An accident slowly waiting to happen; David Marchant’s Cowin’ Lush neon use the drunken scrawls of revellers on Swansea’s infamous Wind St; Jock Mooney’s graphic drawings of Bonnie Tyler, Swansea Jack and The Swansea Devil are turned into The Swansea Kebab, situated in Castle Gardens.

These five new commissions are complemented by two further works commissioned earlier in 2012 by the artists Sean Puleston and Rik Bennett as part of Locws International’s Art Across The High Street programme of ongoing commissions. Five permanent Locws International commissions from artists further support the 2012 programme. These include Bristow Lloyd, Mark Folds, Bermingham & Robinson and Niamh McCann and Bedwyr Williams, who will represent Wales at the Venice Biennale in 2013.

A limited edition print (ed. 10) is available from each of our newly commissioned artists. Please contact Locws International for details.
