Erik Siador review
Great exhibition and great artists. Now, we would like to focus on Erik Siador, a multifaceted artist: illustrator, curator, art director and graphic designer. He is exhibiting fantastic ink artworks, full of evocations of comics but also of science fiction and old legends. Surrealism? Well, it’s clear he is making and interior travel and reflecting his dreams but he goes far, he is trying to analyze the dangerous of the human condition and then, to help people to be free. Free of superstitions and fears (“The Enlightenment”, free to don’t follow the herd (“Relative Intervention”), free to look at the face of time, our biggest taboo, because we are talking about the death… or maybe only about a dimensional change? (“Adventure Time”).
Erik Siador is a master of the ink technique, that is clear, but his works are the result of a deep meditation. He is a conceptual artist and he leaves nothing to chance. If you check his facebook, you will read his favorite quote: “There are those who create what we see, I create what we don’t”. Dark, shadows, insecurities… the difficult way of an artist always on the border of the world that we do not understand, always trying to go beyond our so comfortable reason. But what is art? Exactly this and Erik Siador is an artist, no an engineer or an architect, his work is much more difficult because it can never be ascertained and only intuited.
