Mariela Garibay studied at the Pontificia Universidad Católica in Peru and graduated in Art in sculpture. These studies served as the basis for her first exhibition “Piedra sobre Piedra”. She has taken part in collective exhibitions in most of the exhibition spaces in Peru, as well as at the edition of the Ana Marcela Quintero Visual Art Fair in Mexico City and now in Barcelona (Spain) where she is living.
She has had the opportunity to carry out public works such as the fountain.sculpture in Alameda Marqués in Balderlirios, commissioned by the Baldelirios provincial government. Among her many distinctions, she won the first prize in the National Design Awards of Peruvian Crafts and was awarded with the Winternitz Prize. She has taught at both PUCP university and the Belles Arts School in Ayacucho.
