DALLAS – Fine Arts Chamber Players invites you to a free Bancroft Family Concert at the Dallas Museum of Art on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 3:00 pm featuring the faculty Woodwind Quintet from the University of North Texas. The program for this concert includes baroque musical selections of Scarlatti arranged for quintet by James Ryon, Ligeti’s Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet, Damase’s 17 Variations for Wind Quintet and Aires Tropicales by Paquito D’Rivera. University of North Texas Faculty Woodwind Quintet members are flutist Mary Karen Clardy, clarinetist John Scott, bassoonist Kathleen Reynolds, horn player William Scharnberg and the newly appointed UNT Professor of Oboe, James Ryon.
Bancroft Family Concerts are made possible in part by the Sue & Christopher Bancroft Family, the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, the Dallas Arts District Foundation, TACA, the Texas Commission on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts and WRR-FM Classical 101. For over 31 years, FACP has presented free classical music programs for the enrichment of North Texas area residents. In addition to the free Bancroft Family Concerts, FACP presents the free Basically Beethoven Festival in July. Each year, FACP’s educational outreach programs, Dream Collectors and Community Classics, provide over 500 free educational classes and performances in area public schools. Since its inception in 1981, FACP has served over 205,000 children and performed for over 510,000 residents of North Texas.
